- The shape of the spout makes this an absolute pleasure to pour out of… and the shape of the carafe, like others of this shape, really trap the grit from coffee (and I bet sediment from wine)… I pour into this when my French press is done and give it about a minute for the particles to settle… then pour slowly into my cup and all the grit and fines remain in the carafe (don’t pour all the coffee out, leave a just enough to contain the particles in the carafe). It’s very well made and sturdy, but I wouldn’t try to swirl if you had more than 300ml of coffee in it.
