The 5 Keys to Pool Care
Keeping your pool in excellent condition starts with understanding the five essential areas of pool maintenance.
Circulation
Keep water circulating for 12 hours each day, or 24 hours if you’re experiencing problems
Filtration
Remove solid particles from the water with sand, earth or cartridge filters for fresher, cleaner water
Cleaning
Weekly brushing is recommended to prevent pool problems. Manually vacuum pool as needed
Chemistry
Keep a pool regular program with sanitizers, oxidizers and an algaecide for a clean and fresh pool
Testing
Test your water to measure critical water factors. Water should be professionally tested and balanced twice a year

Vacuuming Your Pool
Weekly and as needed. Always verify the water level before vacuuming.
- Turn the pump on and ensure the filter is set to Filter.
- Attach the vacuum head to the telescopic pole and connect the vacuum hose.
- Place the vacuum into the pool while holding the opposite end of the hose.
- Fill the vacuum hose completely with water by holding it against a return fitting while the pump is running.
- Place the skim-vac over the skimmer basket and connect the hose through the skimmer opening.
- The pump basket may initially contain air but should refill with water.
- Slowly vacuum the pool floor and walls as needed.
This gives the page a natural progression from basic pool care principles into practical first-time ownership instructions.
