These are very strong, comfortable tongs. When grilling, I like tongs that will give a sure grip on the food but not force me to get right over the heat. These fit the bill in that regard, as they are very long (slightly over 18 inches).The tongs are stainless steel, with nice, smooth wooden handles. The gripping surface is large and has a great deal of gripping power. One thing I like about these tongs is that they don’t open wide, so you don’t have to exert much force to close them. They are designed so that, with minimal effort, you can get a good grip on the food.The tongs come with a Mylar storage bag, which is nice except for the fact that the tongs don’t quite fit into it. Be sure to put the tong end in first and then cinch it with the drawstring around the handle end (it seems like about a half-inch of the handle sticks out of the bag).The tongs are lockable in the closed position, but the slider that locks them is sometimes tricky to handle and takes two hands most of the time. Other latching mechanisms are easier to deal with. These work, though, and once you get used to them, they are fine. Once in a while, they will lock themselves, but this is infrequent.Overall, the negatives are minor compared to the positives. These tongs are easy and comfortable to use and get a good grip on the food without excessive pressure. They are hanging on my grill and will stay right where they are. [...]
