- I used this to fill about 15 1L bottles from a recent brew. The internal valve was easy to control and did not clog when some sediment snuck through my siphon. Flow rate is easy to control by varying the height of the bottle below the carboy, and the valve shuts easily when pulled away from the bottom of the bottle.It’s harder to start a siphon with this installed, because the fill valve airtight. You may need a second person to hold it in a bottle (to hold the fill valve open) while pumping an auto-siphon. You can try holding it with a finger as well, but that’s a recipe for spraying yourself.
